Nurse Coach Scholarships for RNs and NPs

Each year, the Integrative Nurse Coach® Academy awards four full-tuition scholarships for the Integrative Nurse Coach® Certificate Program (INCCP). Each one has its own focus and deadline, and each covers the full Certification pathway tuition, a $4,300 value.

What each scholarship covers

Every scholarship pays full tuition for the INCCP Certification pathway. Recipients complete the same program as every INCCP student: self-paced within a cohort, with live small-group faculty mentorship twice a month.

  • Level 1: Foundations (90 contact hours)
  • Level 2: Practicum (156 contact hours, including 60 supervised coaching hours)
  • Level 3: Nurse Coach and Holistic Nurse board certification review courses (24 contact hours each)
  • Eligibility for NC-BC®, HN-BC® and HWNC-BC® board certification through the AHNCC
  • Lifetime access to the INCA Alumni Community

Want more than the Certification pathway?

Recipients can upgrade to the Implementation or Expansion pathway by paying the difference in tuition. Implementation adds one Level 4 course. Expansion adds both Level 4 courses, the Integrative Nurse Coaching Interventionsâ„¢ bonus course and a 1:1 Career Pathway Meeting with faculty.

Not covered

AHNCC board certification application and exam fees, required textbooks and licensure fees are paid separately.

Susan Luck

Winter cohort · Apply by November 25

Susan J. Luck Environmental & Public Health Nurse Coach Scholarship

Named for INCA co-founder Susan J. Luck (1948 to 2022), whose work joined Nurse Coaching with environmental and public health. This scholarship supports nurses working to improve the health of their communities and the places people live.

Who can apply

  • An active, unrestricted RN license (RNs and NPs)
  • Works as a public health, environmental or community health nurse, or has completed 50+ hours of community health or environmental volunteer work in the last five years
  • Complete, thoughtful responses to the application questions

Key dates

  • Apply by November 25
  • Recipient notified by December 15
  • Recipient responds by December 20
  • Recipient begins in the winter cohort, and may defer by one cohort if needed

International Nurse Coach® Scholarship

For nurses practicing outside the United States and Canada who want to bring Nurse Coaching to their communities and health systems. INCA graduates practice in 21 countries.

Who can apply

  • An active, unrestricted RN license, or the equivalent in your country
  • Citizen of a country other than the United States or Canada
  • Conversational English
  • Complete, thoughtful responses to the application questions

  • Apply by January 15
  • Recipient notified by February 15
  • Recipient responds by February 28
  • Recipient begins in the spring cohort, and may defer by one cohort if needed

Men in Nursing Scholarship

Supports men in nursing who want to build Nurse Coaching into their practice, and helps more of the profession see a place for themselves in this specialty.

  • An active, unrestricted RN license (RNs and NPs)

  • Complete, thoughtful responses to the application questions

  • Apply by April 15
  • Recipient notified by May 8
  • Recipient responds by May 14
  • Recipient begins in the summer cohort, and may defer by one cohort if needed

BIPOC Nurse Coach Scholarship

Supports Black, Indigenous and nurses of color entering Nurse Coaching, so that the Nurse Coaches serving communities better reflect the people in them.

Who can apply

  • An active, unrestricted RN license (RNs and NPs)
  • U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • Identifies as Black, Indigenous or a person of color
  • Complete, thoughtful responses to the application questions

Key dates

  • Apply by July 15
  • Recipient notified by August 15
  • Recipient responds by August 22
  • Recipient begins in the fall cohort, and may defer by one cohort if needed

How recipients are selected

INCA faculty review every complete application for the scholarship it was submitted to. Reviewers are board-certified Nurse Coaches, and they read each application with the INCCP in mind: what the applicant hopes to do with Nurse Coaching and how the program would support it.

Reviews are blind. Names and other identifying details are removed before faculty read the essays, so each application is judged on what the applicant wrote.

What reviewers consider

  • Eligibility for the scholarship you selected
  • Your essay: why you want the scholarship and how you plan to use Nurse Coaching in your career
  • Your goals, including the people, communities or settings you hope to serve
  • Your commitment to active participation in the program

Faculty select one full-tuition recipient for each scholarship and may name finalists. The recipient is notified by email by the date listed for that scholarship and confirms by the response date.

For finalists

Partial scholarships of up to $1,500

In addition to the full-tuition recipient, INCA awards partial scholarships of up to $1,500 to finalists, applied toward INCCP tuition. There is no separate application: every complete application is considered for both.

How to apply

Check eligibility and the deadline

Choose the scholarship that fits you and note its application deadline.

Write your essay

Write 300 to 1,000 words on why you want the scholarship and how you plan to use Nurse Coaching in your career, addressing three of the six prompts on the application. Drafting it in a document first helps.

Submit the application

Complete the online application and select your scholarship. Have your RN license number, state of licensure and employer details ready.

Watch your email

You will get a confirmation when you submit. The recipient is notified by email by the date listed and confirms by the response date.

Scholarship questions

Registered nurses and nurse practitioners with an active, unrestricted license. Each scholarship adds its own criteria, listed above. LPNs and LVNs are not eligible for these scholarships, but can see which INCA programs fit them on our LPN and LVN programs page.

INCA faculty, who are board-certified Nurse Coaches, review every complete application for the scholarship it was submitted to. Reviews are blind: names and other identifying details are removed before faculty read the essays. Reviewers look at eligibility, the essay and the applicant’s goals for using Nurse Coaching, then select one recipient and may name finalists.
