Dr. Thomas A. Sult is a graduate of the UCLA School of Medicine and a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians (FAAFP). He is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) and is a Certified Practitioner with The Institute for Functional Medicine (IFMCP). Dr. Sult serves on the faculty for The Institute for Functional Medicine, where he currently teaches the Immune Module to practitioners nationally and internationally.
With more than 30 years of experience practicing Functional Medicine, Dr. Sult is recognized for his ability to translate complex physiology into clear, practical guidance that supports whole-person healing. His clinical work integrates systems biology, lifestyle medicine, functional nutrition, and individualized care planning. He continues to see patients at Just Be Well Medical Clinic in Minnesota, where he also mentors practitioners in applying a functional medicine framework safely and effectively.
Outside of his professional roles, Dr. Sult enjoys life with his wife, Elizabeth, their blended family of children and grandchildren, and the energetic pack of dogs that keep their home lively. He loves spending time outdoors and can often be found biking, skiing, or exploring nature. He values thoughtful conversation, learning, and the intersections of science, philosophy, and human behavior.
