To be part of the first Indigenous Nurses Conference held at Eden Park , Auckland, was incredibly inspiring and very thought provoking.
‘Freed to care and proud to nurse’ is the NZ Nurses Organisation motto.
It is thanks to NZNO,Te Runganga o Aotearoa, Maori Nurses group for ‘Our Health, Our Taonga’ hui, (Our Health, Our Treasure) conference at Te Mahurehure Marae in Auckland.
A call for all nurses to work collaboratively and be the change we want to see in the world’ said Kerri Nuku, Kaiwhakahaere.
The NZNO has set a pioneering global example by establishing a joint leadership partnership between Maori, the people of the land and non Maori of New Zealand.
Susan Luck, co founder of The Integrative Nurse Coach® programme in the States joined us on the Sunday and was incredibly humbled by the experience.
We look forward to becoming greater change agents in our world to create better pathways of health that acknowledge the whole.
Thank you for the vision towards the first International Indigenous Nurses Conference in 2015.
