As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) you are the heart of patient care; providing hands-on support, compassion, and continuity.

If you’ve been searching for Holistic Nursing Programs for LPNs/LVNs or Integrative Nursing Programs for LPNs, the Integrative Nurse Coach® Academy (INCA) offers welcoming, evidence-informed education designed to bring a mind-body-spirit lens into your daily practice.

There are two important program categories at INCA. Understanding the difference will help you choose the right next step for your license and goals.

INCA’s Two Categories of Programs

1) Integrative Nurse Coach® Certificate Program (INCCP)

The INCCP is a comprehensive, cohort-based learning experience (200+ contact hours) designed for Registered Nurses (RNs) and Advanced Practice Nurses (NPs). It aligns with the eligibility requirements for board certification through the American Holistic Nurses Credentialing Corporation (AHNCC), such as the NC-BC credential.

Eligibility note: Because AHNCC requires an active RN license for Nurse Coach board certification, LPNs/LVNs and CNAs are not eligible for the INCCP at this time. For more details, see AHNCC’s Board Certification Eligibility Requirements

2) Specialty & Continuing Education Programs (Open to LPNs/LVNs)

INCA offers a robust catalog of specialty programs and continuing education (CE) courses—many awarding ANCC-approved contact hours—that are open to all nurses, including LPNs/LVNs. These courses are practical, flexible, and designed to enhance care quality, professional growth, and personal resilience.

Specialty Programs Open to LPNs/LVNs

Below are INCA’s current specialty offerings with brief descriptions and practical ways LPNs/LVNs can apply what they learn.

Cannabis for Nurses (CannyNurse®) Certificate Program

Focus: Introduces nurses to cannabinoid science, endocannabinoid physiology, dosage considerations, therapeutic applications, and nursing implications for safe, ethical integration of cannabis-related care.

How LPNs/LVNs can use it: Support patient education and informed decision-making for those using or considering cannabis for pain, sleep, or anxiety. Strengthen your ability to discuss benefits, risks, and potential interactions in alignment with organizational policy and state regulations.

Nutrition for Nurses

Focus: Evidence-informed nutrition fundamentals for nursing practice, including assessment, lifestyle strategies, and patient education that align with a holistic, preventive care model.

How LPNs/LVNs can use it: Offer practical nutrition guidance within scope, reinforce provider plans, and help patients set achievable goals around diet, hydration, and meal planning, especially in long-term care, primary care, and community health settings.

Psychedelics for Nurses

Focus: Emerging research, ethics, safety, and integrative models of support around psychedelic-assisted therapy and post-journey integration.

How LPNs/LVNs can use it: Gain awareness of a rapidly evolving field to engage in informed, ethical dialogue, recognize scope boundaries, and direct patients to appropriate resources within organizational policies and the law.

Homeopathy for Nurses

Focus: Principles of homeopathy, case-taking basics, safety, and how homeopathic perspectives can fit within a holistic nursing framework and patient education.

How LPNs/LVNs can use it: Speak confidently with patients who use complementary remedies, support safe, informed choices, and collaborate with your team to ensure coherent, patient-centered plans of care.

End-of-Life Coaching for Nurses

Focus: Compassionate communication, presence, and spiritual support for patients and families during serious illness and end-of-life transitions, including cultural humility and values-aligned decision-making.

How LPNs/LVNs can use it: In hospice, long-term care, and home health, apply structured conversations and mindful presence to ease distress, support dignity, and coordinate with the interprofessional team for smoother, values-based care.

Business of Nurse Coaching

Focus: Business foundations for nurse-led services—ethics, scope, client experience, offerings, pricing, marketing, and documentation.

How LPNs/LVNs can use it: Even if you cannot yet pursue Nurse Coach board certification, learn how wellness education, workshops, and group programs can be structured within your scope and local regulations. Build transferable skills for future growth.

How LPNs / LVNs Benefit from Integrative Education

  • Enhanced patient care: Apply mind-body-spirit approaches that improve trust, satisfaction, and healing outcomes.
  • Professional advancement: Stand out to employers by demonstrating holistic competencies and interprofessional collaboration skills.
  • Personal resilience: Use self-care, mindfulness, and reflective practice to reduce burnout and reconnect with purpose.
