Whether you are looking to take your career to the next level or are embarking on a new career path, the Hypnosis for Nurses program is the perfect opportunity for you to acquire and hone advanced communication skills while achieving an internationally recognized certification.
Hypnosis and NLP are emerging in Business, Personal Development, Therapy and Relationships, Education and Learning… and Everyday Life.
Nurses can take this new perspective and models of excellence for instant application to their unique situation, whether their own relationships (or self-development), workplace, coaching situations, or community service arenas.
Hypnosis has transformed from primarily being a therapeutic art into a broader science that has much to offer the nursing profession. Its list of meaningful contributions is ever expanding across health care disciplines and in cognitive neuroscience.
Hypnotic language patterns and clinical uses of hypnosis bring a limitless bag of techniques into the hand of the professional nurse, who will be impressed and motivated by the number of possibilities it offers.
Hypnosis for Nurses participants will learn to effectively use language and hypnosis techniques to empower, communicate with anyone instantly, build deep and lasting rapport with others at the unconsciousness level, eliminate emotional baggage to move forward, and purposefully embed hypnotic language for clinical related situations or in coaching, teaching, facilitating, or leading.
Hypnosis is a powerful tool that can be used by nurses to effectively dissipate stress, worry, fear and pain for both their patients/clients and themselves.
Combined with Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), Hypnosis enables professional nurses to access an expansive repertoire of communication methods that they can use to empower those under their care and promote positive change.
By utilizing this approach, one has the capacity to build deep connections at the unconscious level while simultaneously eliminating psychological barriers, allowing the individual to move forward confidently into new opportunities.
Hypnosis’ applications transcend beyond clinical care as well; it reaches business models, personal development initiatives, educational practices and life skills.
Through embracing such perspective changes combined with innovative models nurse practitioners may then apply its multifaceted benefits towards any situation.
Nurses can play a key role in promoting the use of complementary therapies in healthcare settings. By advocating for their patients’ access to these therapies and incorporating them into their own nursing practice, nurses can help to create a holistic approach to patient care.
By utilizing hypnosis, for example, nurses can help to reduce patient anxiety, alleviate pain, and promote relaxation during medical procedures.
Overall, the incorporation of complementary therapies into nursing practice can help to improve patient outcomes and enhance the quality of care provided. As the field of nursing continues to evolve, it is important for nurses to stay up-to-date on the latest research and trends in complementary therapies in order to provide the best possible care to their patients.
The time is ripe for professional nursing to further embrace this training in hypnosis due to its unique therapeutic possibilities. It allows for interventions that are not achievable through other means.
These interventions are based on a skilled and suggestive communication with an individual within the context of a therapeutic alliance, which is essential in every therapeutic intervention, whether physical, emotional, mental, or spiritual.
Hypnosis also provides solutions to fundamental elements of nursing practice, such as how to establish a therapeutic relationship and build positive expectancy for therapeutic interventions.
Therefore, this evidence validates the need for hypnosis and NLP training for nurses and should be integrated into their career paths options, if not at the point of entry into the profession itself.

This way, you can still fully engage with the program and get the most out of it, even if you’re unable to attend all of the live sessions.
If you opt for certification (Part 2), we will meet live on Zoom for 8 full days over a two-week time period.
For centuries, nurses have been aware of the power of the mind on the body. Florence Nightingale, in her book Notes on Nursing, emphasized the importance of helping patients change their thoughts to aid in their healing. In 1906, nurse anesthetist Alice Magaw wrote about the use of hypnosis as a way to decrease stress during surgery and minimize the amount of anesthesia needed. Today, many nurses use hypnosis in their practice.
Nurses have a unique opportunity to enhance patient outcomes by using positive and therapeutic language. Hypnotic techniques can be easily learned by nearly all nurses, and can be used to build rapport with patients and enhance their healing process. Language is a powerful tool, and nurses can positively impact patients by using hypnosis as a means of reassurance and comfort during medical procedures.
Optimal rapport (hypnosis) between healthcare providers and patients has been shown to enhance the healing process. Nurses are in a prime position to use hypnosis as a nursing tool to build trust with patients and aid in their healing process. Just as Alice Magaw used hypnotic techniques in anesthesia, nurses can achieve the same benefits by understanding how they already use hypnosis in their daily nursing care.
In both parts 1 and parts 2, NLP techniques are incorporated into the knowledge base for which it overlaps hypnosis and hypnotic-derived communication approaches.
Although the content taught will be in standard NLP practitioner courses, taking part1 and part 2 will not lead to a completion of the requirements to use the title NLP Practitioner, nor will this course alone be recognized by the American Board of NLP for membership purposes.
As a nurse, NLP can be used in various ways to improve patient care. Firstly, it can be used to improve communication with patients, especially those who may have difficulty expressing themselves or understanding medical jargon. NLP techniques can help nurses use language that is more easily understood by patients and personalize their approach to communication based on individual patient needs. It can also be used to build rapport with patients and reduce anxiety, which can in turn improve patient outcomes.
As a leader or manager, NLP can be used to improve team communication and collaboration. NLP techniques can help in understanding the communication styles of team members and adapting communication methods to suit individual team members. This can improve team dynamics and reduce misunderstandings or conflicts. Additionally, NLP can be used in leadership to motivate and inspire team members, as well as in conflict resolution and problem-solving. By incorporating NLP techniques into their leadership style, nurse managers can create a positive and productive work environment that benefits both staff and patients.
No, prior experience in hypnosis or NLP is not necessary. This program is designed for beginners and participants are encouraged to approach the course with an open mind and a willingness to learn.
Certainly, you are welcome to share what you have learned with others and apply the techniques in your practice. However, please note that this program does not provide certification to become a trainer of hypnosis or NLP.
Part 2 is an 8 day live (Zoom) that takes place over two weeks. While part 1 can be taken as a standalone course, all participants in part 2 must have completed part 1. When both parts are successful completed, you will be a certified hypnotist via the National Guild of Hypnotists.
During this part of the program, skills introduced in part 1 will be enhanced, deepened, and expanded upon.
Experiment with the techniques you learn in the course, as the only way to truly master them is through practice and experience.
Participants will receive full resources to create programs using hypnosis for smoking cessation, weight management, and stress reduction. Additionally, self-hypnosis will be taught as a do-yourself or as a teachable model for a 6-8 hour wellness course.
Requirement is to participate in all 8 days in order to experience all techniques yourself and to perform all techniques in a safe, learning environment where immediate feedback creates instant learning.
Open book test is required with an acceptable pass rate. All material tested on is covered during part 2.
Optional readings and links to additional resources are available for those who want to further deepen their understanding of the concepts taught in the program.
68 Contact Hours and a certificate of completion.
Upon successful completion of both Part 1 and Part 2 of the program, you will meet the requirements for an approved training of the National Guild of Hypnotists (NGH). As a result, you will be entitled to receive a Certificate and registration as a hypnotist.
The NGH will issue a Certificate suitable for framing, and your first year of membership to the NGH will be included. Additionally, as a licensed professional, you may choose to use the title Hypnotherapist (in some states) or Consulting Hypnotist.
The NGH is the oldest educational certifying Guild for Hypnosis, with over 25,000 members in over 93 countries worldwide. They provide comprehensive training, educational conferences, journals, peer-reviewed Board Certification process, regulatory guidance, professional collaboration, networking system, and more.
By signing up to the program you are making a personal commitment to creating a successful business. You will also be agreeing to confidentiality and to keep all that is shared by participants within the group.
Part 1 Requirements:
The National Guild of Hypnotists (NGH) is a membership organization of professionals in hypnotism. It was established in 1950, making it the oldest educational and certifying body for Hypnosis with over 25,000 members in over 93 countries worldwide.
Many of the association’s members have credentials in other areas including medicine, psychology, counseling, and nursing.
The NGH offers comprehensive training, educational conferences, journals, peer-reviewed Board Certification process, regulatory guidance, professional collaboration, networking system, and more.
NGH certification provides numerous benefits, including indicating that you have met specific standards in your training, giving you credibility in the field, and leading to increased opportunities for career advancement or higher income. Moreover, certification provides opportunities for ongoing professional development and networking with other professionals in the field.
The designation you can use after your name depends on the certification you request and may be regulated by your state or a matter of preference. For example, if you hold a state license, you can choose between the titles Consulting Hypnotist or Certified Hypnotherapist, and you can use the letters “CH” after your name in most states. Non-licensed participants (or optional for all) will be titled as Consulting Hypnotist.
However, you can pursue “Board Certification” after being an NGH member for at least one year, and if you become Board Certified, you can use the designation “BCH” after your name, further enhancing your credibility and professionalism in the field. NGH is one of the ONLY professions that offers a true peer-reviewed Board Certification. Therefore, when pursuing this prestigious credential you will be required to interview with the selection board and pass a written exam.
All of these options will be discussed in more detail during Part 2, so you can determine which one best suits your unique goals and situation.
It’s important to note that the above response pertains specifically to US-based practitioners. Other countries may have only one commonly used term for professionals in the field of hypnotism.
To clarify the difference between a hypnotist and a hypnotherapist, it depends on the state in which they are practicing. In the past, these titles may have had distinct meanings, but currently they are generally interchangeable.
However, each state in the US has its own laws that dictate what titles can be used by professionals in the field of hypnotism. Due to the increasing strictness of these laws, the National Guild of Hypnotists (NGH), which is the largest and oldest organization for hypnotism professionals, recommends that its members only use the title of “hypnotist” to avoid confusion and legal issues.
Ultimately, the choice of title is up to the practitioner, as long as they hold a state license and are legally able to use the title “hypnotherapist” in their state of practice.
