About Lisa

My journey in healthcare began in the navy. This is where I learned firsthand that it often takes the right people to show us what we are truly capable of. My experience in hospitals, urgent care, and emergency rooms led to my commitment to prevent disease and keep people healthy. As an educator, I value knowledge but believe that knowledge alone doesn’t lead to change—support, empathy, deep listening and willingness are required.

I have a special interest in diabetes prevention and have done research to find out the best ways to help people with pre-diabetes. I care deeply about health at mid-life. I see this as a time when life starts to open up and, if we are lucky, time begins to become our own again. The body sometimes has other plans! For this reason, I am drawn to helping adults at mid-life take the reins in making health their priority. I have a keen awareness of how stress directly impacts the body and the decisions we make about health.

Multiple tools help me best serve you. I have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Russell Sage College, and a Master’s in Nursing Education and a PhD in Nursing from the University of Rhode Island. I am a board-certified Integrative Nurse Coach trained through the International Nurse Coach Association and am a licensed RN in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. I maintain memberships with the American Holistic Nurses Association, the Institute of Coaching at McLean- Harvard Medical School Affiliate, and the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. A believer in the benefits of mindfulness, I am a certified Mindfulness Meditation teacher which enhances my coaching.

My true north? Living an authentic life that is rich with family and friends, energy and movement, learning and growing, presence and connection. I am happiest when I am moving in nature which might be a hike in the woods with my dog, a walk on the beach with my family or a run with a dear friend.

Taking positive steps toward better health can be hard. Having a supportive person to guide you is a vital factor in making lasting change.
